Portrait of Booker T. Washington

    Artist, Peter Ambush

When Pennsylvania artist Peter Ambush learned of the work of the Booker T. Washington Society, he offered to paint a large portrait of Booker T. Washington -- one that would do justice to his life and legacy.

After researching his subject, Mr. Ambush settled on an approach that is reminiscent of the Old-World artist Rembrandt to create this dynamic portrayal.

The completed painting measures 30" x 40". The Society is grateful to Mr. Ambush for using his extensive talent to benefit the Society. It is our hope to find a permanent home in an appropriate public venue to enable people from all walks of life to learn about and be inspired by the life and legacy of this great American.
